President Erdoğan: Combatting violence against women can only succeed with the whole society’s participation
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Presentation Meeting of the 4th National Action Plan on Combatting Violence against Women.
Delivering a speech at the meeting held at Beştepe Nation’s Convention and Culture Center, President Erdoğan underscored that completely ending violence against women is only possible through the belief and efforts of all the segments of the society, and added: “While continuing to combat all kinds of violence, the reason why we particularly emphasize the notion of violence against women is that we believe that this issue has to be defined clearly. Violence against women, which is affected by many factors, is an issue that has different dynamics than the general violence. Therefore, first of all, the factors that cause violence against women must be thoroughly analyzed and eliminated.”

Stressing that all parties that have responsibility in combatting violence against women have contributed the 4th National Action Plan, President Erdoğan noted: “Our Action Plan primarily aims to create an awareness aimed at influencing and changing the society’s view on violence against women and increasing its sensitivities. In this regard, we aim to carry out educational works for all the segments of the society through campaigns we will conduct by using means of communication in a more active manner. Combatting violence against women can only succeed with the participation and sincere contributions of the whole society. I wholeheartedly believe that all the responsible and relevant parties will take necessary steps and provide every kind of support to the Action Plan. We always have and always will stand by our women in their struggle for their rights in every area, the issue of violence in particular.”
