President Erdoğan comments on approval of first phase of Gaza ceasefire plan

 

In his statement shared on NSosyal, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan commented on the approval by Hamas and Israel of the first phase of the ceasefire plan in Gaza.

In his statement, President Erdoğan said:

"I take immense pleasure in the fact that the Hamas–Israel talks held in Sharm El-Sheikh, to which Türkiye also contributed, have resulted in a ceasefire in Gaza.

I would like to extend special thanks to U.S. President Donald Trump, who demonstrated the necessary political will to encourage the Israeli government towards a ceasefire, as well as to our brother countries, Qatar and Egypt, for their significant support in reaching the agreement.  

As Türkiye, we will closely follow the full implementation of the agreement and continue to contribute to the process. 

Likewise, we will continue our struggle until an independent, sovereign, and geographically integrated Palestinian State is established with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the 1967 borders. 

On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt greetings to my Palestinian brothers and sisters, who have endured indescribable pain for two years, who have fought for life and dignity under inhumane conditions, who have lost their children, mothers, fathers, relatives and friends, and who, despite all the tragedies they have experienced, have not compromised their dignified stance.  

May Allah be the helper and supporter of our Palestinian brothers and sisters; may Allah bless the souls of our martyrs and grant them paradise.”
