President Erdoğan: Even the slightest hesitation regarding the syria issue will cost us dearly

President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens at a campaign rally in the province of Bursa in the run-up to the local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.

Pointing out that Turkey is going through a period during which every choice made is of crucial importance for the future of the country, President Erdoğan noted that they closely follow the issues which amount to a matter of survival for the Turkish people while also preparing for the upcoming elections.

“EVEN THE SLIGHTEST HESITATION REGARDING THE SYRIA ISSUE WILL COST US DEARLY”

Underlining that they know very well how dearly even the slightest hesitation regarding the Syria issue will cost them and what kind of a scene will emerge unless they firmly safeguard Turkey’s interests related to the developments in the East Mediterranean, Cyprus and the Aegean Sea, President Erdoğan said: “We are well aware of the fact that we must stand firm in diplomacy as well in economy. The way to achieving all this is through political stability in our country.”

“WE HAVE TAKEN NEGATIVE IMPLICATIONS OF THE ECONOMIC FLUCTUATION UNDER CONTROL TO A GREAT EXTENT”

Also drawing attention to the recent speculations over the prices of food items in Turkey, President Erdoğan underlined that negative implications of the economic fluctuation have been taken under control to a great extent, and added: “We don’t allow anyone to cause pessimism among our citizens or to threaten the Turkish people’s livelihood.”

Stating that the current deficit in Turkey has regressed to 27.6 billion dollars, the lowest in the last 9 years, with the foreign investments in the country increasing by 14 percent to reach 13.2 billion dollars last year as opposed to the 19 percent decrease in global foreign investments at the same period of time, President Erdoğan described that course of affairs as a sign of the confidence in Turkey.
