President Erdoğan: Everyone living on these lands are citizens of our country with equal rights

 

President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke during a campaign rally in the province of Diyarbakır in the run-up to the local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.

“THE SCOURGE OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION DESCENDED OVER DIYARBAKIR LIKE A NIGHTMARE”

“Diyarbakır has, for centuries, been the engine of Turkey’s freedom, but it has been pushed into a quagmire of negligence, poverty and underdevelopment,” President Erdoğan said, noting that the scourge of the terrorist organization descended over Diyarbakır like a nightmare.

“As we saved Diyarbakır from the oppression of the terrorist organization, the landscape here began to change,” President Erdoğan said.

“EVERYONE LIVING ON THESE LANDS ARE CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY WITH EQUAL RIGHTS”

Recalling that they have invested TL41 billion in Diyarbakır in the last 17 years in education, healthcare, justice, security, transportation and agriculture, President Erdoğan said: “We will introduce greater services in Diyarbakır in the upcoming period.”

“All Diyarbakır needs is to lift the shadow of the terrorist organization from the city. The organization which oppressed the Kurds the most throughout the history is the PKK. It has never cared about defending the rights of our Kurdish brothers and sisters or of anyone else in our region,” President Erdoğan underscored.

Highlighting the revolutionary works they have done to protect the rights, culture and dignity of the Kurds, President Erdoğan said: “In our faith, all people deserve the same respect and service. Everyone, living on these lands, sharing the same beauties and enduring the same difficulties, are citizens of our country with equal rights.”

“TURKEY IS THE SOLE SAFE HAVEN FOR THE DISADVANTAGED AND THE OPPRESSED”

Underlining that anyone in trouble in our region first thinks of Turkey, President Erdoğan said: “Where did the people of Kobane go? To Turkey. There are 200 thousand people, our brothers and sisters, from Kobane in Turkey at the moment. These lands has always been the sole safe haven for the disadvantaged and the oppressed. Do you know why? Because Turkey is the only real state in the region.”

Following his speech, President Erdoğan paid a visit to the Governorate of Diyarbakır.
