President Erdoğan expresses condolences for Doğan, the Founder and Honorary President of the Writers Union of Türkiye

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his condolences on social media for the passing of Mehmet Doğan, the Founder and Honorary President of the Writers Union of Türkiye (TYB).

In his message, President Erdoğan conveyed his profound sorrow upon learning of the passing of Doğan, the Founder and Honorary President of TYB and one of the most esteemed intellectuals raised in the country.

In his message, President Erdoğan said:

"I wish Allah's mercy upon Mr. D. Mehmet Doğan, who will always be remembered for his distinctive contributions to our world of literature, history, ideas, and culture, particularly his works on our National Poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy and our National Anthem along with his work, the Great Turkish Dictionary; I offer my condolences to his family, readers, loved ones, and the literary community. May he rest in peace."
