President Erdoğan: I have spent a significant part of the last 17 years in Ankara and I loved it. I believe Ankara loved me, too

 

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan introduced the Justice and Development (AK) Party’s mayoral candidates for Ankara and its districts at a gathering at Ankara Sports Hall.

“I have spent a significant part of the last 17 years in Ankara and I loved it. I believe Ankara loved me, too,” President Erdoğan said, and underlined: “Ankara deserves the best policies, services and investments.”

“When the AK Party came into power, we promised to raise Turkey upon for fundamental pillars, namely education, healthcare, justice and security,” President Erdoğan recalled. Pointing to the reforms achieved in education, President Erdoğan said: “We first launched an initiative to deal with the shortcomings and demands regarding the educational infrastructure.”

“We have heralded in a new era with city hospitals,” President Erdoğan said. “We have inaugurated 8 city hospitals in total so far, namely Yozgat, Isparta, Mersin, Adana, Kayseri, Manisa, Elazığ and Eskişehir.”

On justice, President Erdoğan noted that the judicial system had in the past been trampled upon and undermined by the putschists and forces of tutelage and said: “We have realized many reforms to provide the best judicial service to our citizens and to boost our people’s confidence in our judicial system.”

“WE HAVE CRUSHED ALL TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS”

Underscoring that security is one of their top priorities, President Erdoğan said: “Our country is not in peace thanks to the blows dealt to terrorist organizations both inside and outside our borders. We have been crushing all terrorist organizations, including the PKK, PYD, DAESH and FETO, which have been nourished, bred and unleashed upon us by dark forces. We give no respite to organized crime groups.”

Noting that Turkey reaches out to a vast geography through agencies such as the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Yunus Emre Institute and the Maarif Foundation, President Erdoğan said: “We stand with our people, with our brothers and sisters, with the oppressed, with the wronged, above all we stand with justice.”
