President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a written statement on the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka.

“I learned with great grief that many people lost their lives and a great number were injured in terrorist attacks that took place during Easter ceremonies in Sri Lanka,” the statement read. “I condemn vehemently and in the strongest terms possible this inhumane attack on houses of worship.”

Noting that this barbaric attack has shown once again the need for a determined fight against terror in all its forms, the statement underscored: “We will be in solidarity with Sri Lanka against terrorism, the common enemy of humanity and global peace. On behalf of my country and myself, I extend my condolences to the people of Sri Lanka on this heinous incident. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
