President Erdoğan: It is of utmost importance that the Turkish Cypriots live in peace and safety on these lands
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at an opening and ground-breaking ceremony in Lefkosa, the capital city of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
“I once again congratulate the 47th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation which put an end to the captivity of the Turkish Cypriots. I wish Allah’s mercy upon our martyrs who did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives to that end and remember with respect our veterans,” President Erdoğan said.
“WE ARE REALIZING PROJECTS THAT ELEVATE THE TURKISH CYPRIOTS’ WELFARE”
“It is of utmost importance to us that the Turkish Cypriots look to the future with hope, and live in peace and safety on these lands, of which they are the principal constituents. The Turkish Cypriots, who are equal and joint owners of the Island, have been for decades condemned to the unlawful and inhumane embargo of the Greek Cypriots. We, on the other hand, have been realizing projects that elevate the Turkish Cypriots’ welfare,” President Erdoğan said.
Addressing the Turkish Cypriots, President Erdoğan said: “We will continue to stand with you through works that touch the daily lives of the people. In doing so, we are not only thinking about the present day of the Turkish Cypriots, but also this beautiful Island’s future. For example, the water we brought from Anatolia will greatly contribute to the Island’s climate and especially to its future.”
“DECISION TO OPEN MARAS FURTHER BOOSTED OUR EID JOY”
Inaugurating via videoconference the newly-restored Bilal Aga Masjid in the Maraş area, President Erdoğan said: “Today, President Tatar’s decision to open Maraş further boosted our Eid joy.”
“Maraş will be opened in a way that will harm no one’s rights within the framework of the international law, and it will regain its beauty,” President Erdoğan underscored.
