President Erdoğan: It is Turkey’s legitimate right to carry out operations against terror

President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the party’s parliamentary group meeting.

Drawing attention to Turkey’s determination in its fight against terror, President Erdoğan said: “Let me reiterate from here that it is both a legitimate right and a humanitarian duty for Turkey to carry out operations against terror inside and outside its borders.”

“We call on all, who have principles and dignity, to support this legitimate fight and approach of Turkey,” President Erdoğan stressed, and added: “Whoever attempts to cast a shadow over this fight with statements that include buts and ifs should know that they are making a crucial mistake. The end of the dangerous road paved by policies produced as a result of selfish strategic priorities, poor calculations and wrong alliances will be disaster for everyone.”

“WE HAVE PREVENTED THE PANDEMIC FROM CAUSING HEAVIER DAMAGE TO BOTH PEOPLE’S HEALTH AND ECONOMY”

Touching upon Turkey’s fight against the COVID-19, President Erdoğan noted that thanks to the measures taken effectively in time, Turkey has prevented the pandemic from causing heavier damage to both people’s health and economy.

Pointing to Turkey’s normalization calendar, President Erdoğan said: “If we resort to an uncontrolled normalization, it will be inevitable for us to implement much stricter measures soon due to a possible increase in the number of cases and deaths. Therefore I ask patience from my nation.”

As regards the vaccination, President Erdoğan noted that Turkey continues the process according to the priority groups, adding that more progress will be made in vaccination in March.
