President Erdoğan: No pandemic is greater than our unity and solidarity
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the meeting of the Presidential Cabinet at the Presidential Complex.
“WE SHOULD REARRANGE OUR LIVES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF MASK, DISTANCE AND HYGIENE”
Noting that the steps taken for normalization were discussed during the meeting, President Erdoğan said: “It is evident that we have dealt with the pandemic with minimum restrictions, fatalities and economic problems, particularly in comparison to Europe. Turkey keeps moving forward with the same level of determination. I would like to reiterate once again that we should rearrange our lives in accordance with the principles of mask, distance and hygiene until this plague is fully eradicated.”
President Erdoğan continued as follows: “It is not enough that solely our country defeats the pandemic because the rest of the world should also display the same performance. In this regard, we should get used to the fact that what we call the new normal will continue for a little longer.”
Calling on citizens to abide by the rules of the new era and contribute to the ongoing fight against the pandemic, President Erdoğan highlighted Turkey’s visions for 2053 and 2071, and said: “We keep moving forward with the confidence that no pandemic or threat is greater that our unity and solidarity.”
“WE WILL NOT LET IDLIB BE DRAGGED BACK TO THE ATMOSPHERE OF CONFLICT”
As regards Idlib, President Erdoğan said: “By making the best of the advantages brought about by the Presidential System of Government, we have carried our successful endeavors inside our borders to our foreign policy. We haven’t allowed the climate of peace in Idlib, established following the memorandum we signed with Russia on March 5, to be disrupted. Even though the regime forces have escalated their provocations in the last few days, we will not let Idlib be dragged back to the atmosphere of conflict. Our relevant units are closely monitoring the process. We are taking all the necessary measures.”
“WE WILL STAND WITH OUR LIBYAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS, NOT THE PUTSCHISTS”
Also touching upon the developments in Libya, President Erdoğan, stressing that the internationally-recognized Government of National Accord has entirely eradicated the putschists from Tripoli, added that thanks to Turkey’s support and the Libyan Government’s unwavering stance, the international trap set against Libya has been foiled.
“We will continue to support our Libyan brothers and sisters until peace, tranquility and justice are restored in the whole of Libya. From military training to rebuilding of the state, we will mobilize all the means at our disposal for our brothers and sisters. We will stand with our Libyan brothers and sisters, not the putschists or imperialists,” the President stated.
