President Erdoğan: Our aim is to be worthy of the support we receive from our people
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the 49th Mukhtars Meeting at the Presidential Complex.
Pointing out that there are few countries in the world where democracy is practiced in as widespread and complete a manner as it is practiced in Turkey, President Erdoğan said: “As an administration that draws its strength and legitimacy from the polls, we are responsible for paying heed only to what our people say, which is what we are doing. Our aim in every step we take and in every action we perform is to be worthy of the support we receive from our people.”
SERVICE-ORIENTED BUDGET FOR 2019
Also drawing attention to the share allocated for infrastructure and superstructure investments and services in the 2019 budget, President Erdoğan said: “If a state denies its citizens the support they need, then that state is actually at the disposal of just a handful of elites. Our state, whereas, should embrace and provide basic services to all of the more than 4 million downtrodden people taking shelter in Turkey along with the 81 million citizens of our own.”
