President Erdoğan: Our economic reform package includes concrete and solution-oriented policies that will carry Turkey to the future with confidence

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan unveiled the Economic Reform Package in a speech in Istanbul.

Noting that the preparations for the reforms programme that will shape Turkey’s future were initiated back in November, President Erdoğan said: “At the heart of our programme lies the goal of making the economy grow on the basis of investments, production, employment and export. We will boost our potential for growth by increasing the efficiency in production. Further strengthening the real economy, we aim for an indigenous and national economy which has decreased its use of exported input and breaks new records in exports through value-added production.”

Meetings with representatives of the private sector and NGOs were held and all the demands and offers were listened to in the preparatory period of the programme, President Erdoğan stated.

Underlining that the reform package includes concrete and solution-oriented policies that will carry Turkey to the future with confidence, President Erdoğan said: “We will complete all the reforms we have scheduled within the timeline we have determined. We will evaluate the success of the programme with the reform monitoring meetings we will hold quarterly. Turkey will hopefully enter the post-pandemic era as a much more powerful global actor.”
