We will spend the first day of the Eid with our Cypriot brothers and sisters, and attend the ceremonies to be held for 20 July. Thus, I believe that we will give the entire world a message, that is we will stand, in the strongest manner possible, by the TRNC in its quest for rights and justice.”
“IT IS OUR PRIMARY DUTY TO PROTECT ALL OUR CITIZENS’ RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND CONSCIENCE”
Regarding the desecration against a church in Istanbul’s district of Kadıköy, President Erdoğan stated that he considers the incident to be a provocation targeting the unity and solidarity in the country. “It is our primary duty to protect all our citizens’ right to freedom of religion and conscience. We will follow this incident until the end as is the case with similar incidents. It is out of the question for us to accept such an immorality, such an indecency. It is out of the question for us to accept such assaults against a sanctuary no matter what faith it belongs to.”
