President Erdoğan: Our nation owns the determination to keep our Republic alive for many more centuries
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of Atatürk Cultural Center in Beyoğlu, Istanbul.
“WE ARE ENDEAVORING TO PAY OUR DEBT TO THE FOUNDERS OF THE REPUBLIC BY WORKING DAY AND NIGHT TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS FOR 2023”
Commencing his speech by marking the 98th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic, President Erdoğan said: “I remember with mercy and grace all the heroes of the national struggle, first and foremost Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who gifted us our Republic, the final link, in our geography, of our chain of states spanning thousands of years.”
President Erdoğan stated: “Our nation owns the determination and perseverance to keep our Republic alive for many more centuries as we stand on the threshold of reaching its centenary. And we, for our part, are endeavoring to pay our debt to the founders of our Republic by laying out our goals for 2023 and working day and night to achieve these goals.”
Underlining that no obstacle, no trap, no attack can stop Turkey from achieving its goals for 2023, the centenary of the Republic, President Erdoğan stressed: “I once again congratulate you and our nation on the 29 October Republic Day.”
“WE ARE GIVING ONE OF THE NICEST PRESENTS TO NEXT GENERATIONS BY INAUGURATING THIS FACILITY”
Drawing attention to the countless projects and facilities inaugurated in Istanbul to preserve the history, culture and arts of the city, which form its soul, President Erdoğan said: “And today we are opening the new Atatürk Cultural Center. We believe that by inaugurating in our city such a facility that is compatible with Turkey’s and Istanbul’s goals for 2023 we are actually giving one of the nicest presents to next generations. Any cultural and artistic activity to be carried out here will, in their own realms, be a step taken on the path to building the great and powerful Turkey. Atatürk Cultural Center, which I see as the final link of the marks we have left on the city since its conquest in 1453, will live on for centuries as the venue where our country’s cultural and artistic heart beats. I wish for this magnificent facility, whose every phase starting from the project to the construction I have followed closely, to be auspicious for our country and Istanbul.”
