President Erdoğan: Our people will not allow any regression in democracy or economy

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke during a campaign rally in the province of Eskişehir in the run-up to the local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.
Underlining Turkey’s determination to foil any plot against its economy and democracy, President Erdoğan drew attention to the TL22 billion worth of investment made in Eskişehir over the past 17 years, and said: “Our people will never again allow the revival of the eras of coups and tutelages. Our people will not allow any regression in democracy or economy, or any reversal of the gains they have made in other areas.”
“TURKEY ALSO REPRESENTS ITS BILLIONS OF BROTHERS AND SISTERS ACROSS THE WORLD”
Noting that Turkey is more than the 81 provinces that make it up, with a vast geography of civilization and culture lying behind it, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey also represents its billions of brothers and sisters across the world.
“It is not possible to make those, who don’t know the difference between our country’s geographical borders and the borders of our heart, understand certain points,” underlined the President, and continued: “They, for instance, don’t understand the reason why we concern ourselves with the Balkans, the Caucasia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Asia, North Africa, Africa or the Middle East. They cannot comprehend the reason why our area of interest extends into the depths of Asia as well as South America and the Caribbean. And since they fail to see the big picture behind all this, they cannot figure out why on earth a murderer in New Zealand spits his grudge, hatred and venom on our country. Some in our country might be unaware of their own history or be ashamed of what they assume they know. Yet, a stranger comes out and shows via symbols, numbers and names what our history stands for. Moreover, he does this in such a bloody manner that it becomes impossible to conceal the messages he gives.”
