President Erdoğan: Our priority is to maintain and increase employment
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech during a meeting with workers in Kayseri.
Noting that the world has been experiencing one of the biggest economic traumas of the last half century, President Erdoğan stated: “The crisis, which started with the coronavirus pandemic, has further deteriorated with the conflicts that broke out between Russia and Ukraine. The global inflation, triggered by the exorbitant hikes in oil and natural gas prices, has become one of the primary issues afflicting the humanity. All the developed countries from the US to Germany are today grappling with problems related to healthcare, energy, food and employment besides inflation.”
Drawing attention to Türkiye’s economic policies and social support programmes aimed at protecting citizens’ employment as well as their well-being throughout the pandemic period, President Erdoğan said: “Our priority is to maintain and increase employment which means that each citizen of ours has a job and livelihood. To that end, we incentivize investments, production and exports. Thanks be to Allah, we have already surpassed 126 billion dollars in exports in the first half of the year. We will inshallah have reached nearly 300 billion dollars by the end of the year.”
