President Erdoğan performs Eid prayer in Istanbul

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan performed Eid al-Fitr prayer at Grand Camlica Mosque in Istanbul.

President Erdoğan answered reporters’ questions following the prayer. In answer to a question regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, President Erdoğan drew attention to Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador İbrahim Kalın’s latest visit to Kyiv and noted that Türkiye was working to speed up the evacuation from Mariupol. The President also stressed Türkiye’s desire to bring the Russian and Ukrainian leaders together in Istanbul or Ankara.

As regards his visit to Saudi Arabia late April, President Erdoğan said that favorable developments were taking place concerning the Gulf. Recalling his bilateral meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, President Erdoğan stated that the relations between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia would greatly enhance in many areas, particularly in tourism.
