President Erdoğan performs Friday prayer at Grand Selimiye Mosque in Istanbul

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan performed Friday prayer at Grand Selimiye Mosque in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul.

Following the prayer, President Erdoğan delivered remarks to reporters.

When reminded of the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre, President Erdoğan noted that the massacre was of importance in terms of demonstrating Armenia’s character.

Underscoring that the massacre of hundreds, thousands of people in Khojaly was unacceptable, President Erdoğan said the incident revealed Armenia’s nature.

“WE ARE AGAINST ALL KINDS OF COUPS”

In response to a question on the Armenian military’s call for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation, President Erdoğan said: “What is being done in Armenia right now is a coup attempt. And we are against all kinds of coups. It is impossible for us to accept coups.”

“If there will be a change in administration, the people of Armenia will make that change. It must be left to the will of the Armenian people. And given that will, Pashinyan’s destiny has already become clear. The Armenian people are tired of their administration. The people there have come to the point of taking Pashinyan down themselves but when it comes to the coups, we have a different opinion.
