President Erdoğan performs Friday prayer at Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan performed Friday prayer at the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, which reopened for worship after an 86-year hiatus.

Reciting verses from Holy Quran before performing Friday prayer, President Erdoğan thereafter visited the tomb of Mehmet the Conqueror. Answering reporters’ questions during the visit, President Erdoğan underscored that the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque is a cultural heritage of the entire humanity which people of all religions can visit, and added that it will continue forever to serve all the believers as a mosque.
