President Erdoğan, PM Al Sudani of Iraq

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani of Iraq.

Expressing that Türkiye’s priority is preserving peace beyond its borders as well as the protection of civilians from harm, President Erdoğan stated that they attach importance to Syria's unity, stability, and territorial integrity and are on the same page with Iraq on this issue.

President Erdoğan stated that the Syrian regime should engage in a genuine political process to prevent the circumstances from further deteriorating.

President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye, in line with its national security and interests, has taken and will take steps to avert the terrorist organization PKK and its extensions, which are seeking to benefit from developments.
