President Erdoğan, PM Nehammer of Austria talk over phone

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with Prime Minister Karl Nehammer of Austria.

The call addressed relations between Türkiye and Austria as well as regional and global matters.

During the call, President Erdoğan stated that Syria has entered a period where the people will decide the future of their country and that it is essential to eliminate all terrorist organizations operating in Syria, including the PKK and DAESH, to preserve Syria's territorial integrity during this process.

President Erdoğan expressed that the safe, dignified, and voluntary return of Syrian refugees has begun and that the continuation of these returns in increasing numbers depends on the establishment of sustainable living conditions in Syria.

President Erdoğan also noted that the international community's support is essential for the reconstruction of Syria and the restoration of the infrastructure that has collapsed due to the civil war and that everyone needs to contribute to the return and reconstruction efforts.
