President Erdoğan, President Macron of France talk over phone

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Emmanuel Macron of France.

The call, held at the request of the French side, addressed the bilateral relations between Türkiye and France, as well as regional and global developments, and the Russia-Ukraine war.

President Erdoğan stated that advancing cooperation between Türkiye and France is essential and that they will continue taking steps toward this goal.

President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye is making every effort to ensure that the war between Ukraine and Russia is brought to an end through a just and lasting peace.

Emphasizing that contacts with the parties continue to revive the Istanbul process, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye is ready to do its utmost to open the door to peace as soon as possible.

Underscoring that diplomatic channels must be used most effectively to achieve lasting peace, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye’s support for efforts to secure a ceasefire and for the subsequent processes will continue to increase, adding that refraining from steps that could endanger global peace would contribute to peace efforts.

The situation in the Caucasus, Gaza, and Syria was also discussed during the call.
