President Erdoğan, President of the European Commission von der Leyen talk over phone

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The call addressed the latest developments in Syria.

During the call, President Erdoğan expressed that Türkiye will continue to provide robust support for the Syrian people in the upcoming period in order to clean Syria of terrorist elements, to ensure its unity, to protect its territorial integrity, and to ensure that all Syrians, with all their ethnic and religious elements, live in peace.

President Erdoğan stated that the process for the honorable, safe, and voluntary return of Syrians to their country has been formulated and that the work on the reconstruction of Syria will speed up this return.
