President Erdoğan, President Zelenskyy of Ukraine talk over phone

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine.

The call, held at the request of the Ukrainian side, addressed the Türkiye-Ukraine bilateral relations as well as regional and global matters.

Praising the progress achieved in the direct talks in Istanbul between Ukraine and Russia as valuable, President Erdoğan expressed his wish for meaningful results, in the next rounds, for a ceasefire on the path towards lasting peace.

Noting that Türkiye stands ready to host a summit at the leaders' level, President Erdoğan voiced his belief that establishing working groups in the military, humanitarian and political spheres will pave the way for a summit.

President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye continues to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
