President Erdoğan, President Zelenskyy of Ukraine talk over phone

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine.

The call addressed the Türkiye-Ukraine bilateral relations, the Ukraine-Russia peace process as well as regional and global issues.

Stating that they closely follow the talks in Alaska and Washington, President Erdoğan said Türkiye maintains its efforts in order for the war to end with a lasting peace, and that it, with the establishment of peace, will continue to contribute to Ukraine’s security.

Stressing that a just peace is possible in the Ukraine-Russia war, President Erdoğan added that the negotiations between the parties should be continued in an intensified manner, voicing Türkiye’s readiness to do its utmost for the realization of high-level meetings that will pave the way for peace.

President Erdoğan also congratulated President Zelenskyy of Ukraine on the Independence Day of Ukraine.
