President Erdoğan, President Zelenskyy of Ukraine talk over phone

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine.

The call addressed the Türkiye-Ukraine bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.

Noting that Türkiye will continue its efforts for the establishment of just and lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia, President Erdoğan said that Türkiye favors continuation of the peace talks launched in Istanbul, and that it is pleasing that the prisoner exchange agreed upon during the talks in Istanbul has been realized in a short span of time.

Stating that discussing the potential ceasefire in the second round of the talks planned to be held in Istanbul will pave the way for peace, President Erdoğan stressed the importance of both countries’ participation in the meeting with strong delegations to maintain the momentum on the path to peace.

Holding talks at leaders’ level following the finalization of the talks between the delegations will contribute to the peace process, President Erdoğan further stressed, adding that this should be done without any further delay.
