President Erdoğan’s Christmas Message
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a message on Christmas.
Noting that it is crucial for them that all citizens can freely practice their own culture, religion, and traditions, President Erdoğan said:
"I sincerely congratulate our Christian citizens on the occasion of Christmas. We pay utmost attention today to ensure that our people are not discriminated against based on their ethnicity, race, language, religion, or sect, as we have throughout the history of our civilisation. It is crucial for us that all our citizens can freely practice their own culture, religion, and traditions. As a consequence of embracing these values, our region has long served as a safe harbour and a shelter for all those who flee conflict, war, persecution, and oppression.
Amidst regional crises and instability, our country is a place where all residents, regardless of religion, faith, ethnicity, or sect, can live in peace, tranquillity, and security, confident in their future. In the spirit of mutual respect, we will continue to recognise our country's diversity as a source of richness and collaborate to shape our future. I once again congratulate all Christians, particularly our Christian citizens, and wish them peace, happiness, and prosperity.
