President Erdoğan’s message on the anniversary of the Circassian Exile

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan released a message on his social media account marking the 161st anniversary of the Circassian Exile, which took place on May 21, 1864.

In his message, President Erdoğan stated:

 “On the anniversary of the unjust, unlawful, and inhumane deportation of our Circassian brothers and sisters from their homeland in the Caucasus, I pray for Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, and I deeply share in the indescribable pain they endured.”
