President Erdoğan said: “With high pay rises in salaries and pensions, we compensate for the loss of welfare caused by inflation”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at a gathering of craftspeople in Ankara.
Noting that the backbone of the state in Türkiye has been built with an approach focused on craftspeople, President Erdoğan said: “We have successfully emerged and rapidly recovered from every turmoil thanks to the determination and acumen of the craftspeople, our secret power. We witnessed the most recent example of this on July 15. Our craftspeople formed the majority of our citizens who made the streets unbearable for coup-plotting traitors. Likewise, our craftspeople ranked the first in terms of the number of civilian martyrs and veterans.”
Drawing attention to the steps taken in Türkiye to protect the citizens against the impacts of global crises, President Erdoğan said: “We have reconfigured our economic programme in a manner that would not only help us overcome the hurdles in front of us but also steer us towards bigger goals. We have determinedly implemented our economic programme based on growth through investments, employment, production, exports and account surplus. At a time when the word was talking about recession and contraction, we reached a growth rate of 11.4 percent in 2011 and 6.2 percent in the first three quarters of 2022.”
President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “We have resumed our ascent after stopping the relative slowdown in income caused by the excessive rise in foreign exchange. We have reached the highest-ever level in our history with 31.5 million employment. We have broken the Republican era record with 254.2 billion dollars’ worth of exports. We have come to this point from 36 billion dollars. We have launched a great initiative in every field of energy, which is the biggest cause of our current account deficit, from the Black Sea natural gas to oil wells, solar plants and wind plants. With high pay rises in salaries and pensions, we compensate for the loss of welfare caused by inflation.”
