President Erdoğan sent a video message to the International Symposium: One Hundred Years of the National Palaces.
Wishing the symposium every success, President Erdoğan warmly congratulated the Directorate of National Palaces for organising this important event, which brought together dozens of experts from 27 different countries.
Emphasising that the Ottoman Empire, which governed a vast expanse across three continents for six centuries and produced distinguished works of civilisation throughout its territories, President Erdoğan remarked that its mosques, pavilions, madrasas and palaces, which endure in all their splendour to this day, epitomise the architectural achievements of the Turkish nation. President Erdoğan remarked that the Ottoman palaces, borne of a refined artistic vision, continue to house today the rare and exquisite works that were created by diverse methods, adding:
"The Republic of Türkiye carefully preserves our national palaces just as it protects the treasures of science, art, and culture inherited from the Ottoman Empire. The Directorate of National Palaces is responsible for carrying out maintenance and restoration efforts as well as opening new museums and exhibiting preserved artworks to the public. I would like to once again congratulate all who contributed to the International Symposium ‘One Hundred Years of the National Palaces’ on its centennial and express my gratitude to the academics who generously shared their valuable insights at the event. Thank you."
