President Erdoğan shares iftar with healthcare workers
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with healthcare workers at an iftar dinner at the Presidential Complex.
Thanking each and every single healthcare worker in Türkiye, President Erdoğan recalled the difficulties they experienced in the past 2 years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“While trying to help our patients get better, they spent days apart from their families. Our brothers and sisters could not go home for weeks, did not see their children, could only talk to their loved ones on the phone.
During the pandemic, we lost many scientists raised in our country, including esteemed professors Murat Dilmener and Celal Taşçıoğlu. I wish Allah’s mercy upon all our friends who passed away, particularly those who died in line of duty,” President Erdoğan said.
Noting that the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted once again the importance of having a strong medical infrastructure, high-quality, extensive and accessible medical services President Erdoğan said: “Thanks be to Allah, we have reaped in the past 2 years the fruits of the investments we made in healthcare in the past 20 years.”
“WE ARE DETERMINED TO CROWN OUR FIGHT AGAINST THE PANDEMIC WITH VICTORY”
Underlining that Türkiye was one of the first countries that gained access to vaccines, President Erdoğan said: “Our domestically produced vaccine TURKOVAC is helping millions across the world as well as our own citizens. Through the Türkiye Vaccine Institute and Clinical Research Center we founded, we are carrying out high-quality works in this field. We are determined to crown with victory the fight we have successfully been waging for the past 2 years against the pandemic that deeply shook the world.”
