President Erdoğan spoke by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump this evening.

During the phone call, the bilateral issues and the latest developments in Syria were discussed, the importance of supporting the political process was emphasized, and the determination to fight all forms of terror was underscored.  

President Erdoğan reiterated Turkey’s desire to maintain close relations with its strategic partner.

President Erdoğan and President Trump agreed that the U.S. decision to withdraw from Syria should be implemented in line with common interests and in a way that would cause no harm to joint goals. 

The two leaders also reached a consensus to achieve the goal of 75 billion dollars in trade volume and agreed that the bilateral economic relations should be further enhanced.
