President Erdoğan: The cooperation between Turkey and Serbia has reached a perfect level
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a joint press conference with President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia following the second meeting the Turkey-Serbia High Level Cooperation Council.
Stating that they have discussed regional developments as well as bilateral relations during today’s talks, President Erdoğan noted that they have reviewed at the second meeting of the Turkey-Serbia High Level Cooperation Council the works carried out in the past two years, and that they have set new goals. Underscoring that Turkey will seek to further its relations with Serbia, President Erdoğan, drawing attention to the agreements signed in several areas, including security, science and technology, said: “Our cooperation has reached a perfect level.”
“OUR BILATERAL TRADE VOLUME HAS INCREASED TO 1.2 BILLION DOLLARS”
Pointing out that Turkey’s investments in Serbia have exceeded 200 million dollars, President Erdoğan said the bilateral trade volume has increased to 1.2 billion dollars, and that these figures will likely to further increase with the renewed Free Trade Agreement that has recently taken effect. Pointing to the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA)’s projects and works, President Erdoğan noted that the cooperation in the area of education has also improved with Turkish Maarif Foundation’s activities and the Türkiye Scholarships, and added: “Furthermore, it is impossible for us to forget the support that my treasured friend has declared and maintained since the beginning in the fight against FETO. I would once again like to thank him on my and my people’s behalf.”
“WE SUPPORT THE REGION’S EURO-ATLANTIC ORIENTATION”
Further stressing that Turkey plays a constructive role in the stability and prosperity of the Balkans, and added: “We support the region’s Euro-Atlantic orientation. We try to help the countries in the region leave behind the current problems and strengthen the dialogue and cooperation among themselves. In this regard, I attach great importance to the fact that we will hold tomorrow the Turkey-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Serbia Trilateral Summit, which could not be held for a long time.”
