President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated the new Turkevi Center in New York.
“TURKEVI CENTER WILL REFLECT OUR TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE’S ELEGANCE ONTO NEW YORK’S SKYLINE”
Drawing attention to the rightful pride Turkey is having due to the inauguration, President Erdoğan said: “We are honored because we are introducing yet another permanent service for our state and nation. We are proud because through this building, we will be reflecting onto New York’s skyline the beauty and elegance of our historical and traditional architecture. We are proud because we have constructed a magnificent center by the hard work of our architects, engineers and workers.”
“TURKEY CONTRIBUTES TO THE EFFORTS AIMED AT ESTABLISHING INTERNATIONAL PEACE AND SECURITY”
“Turkey, a founding member of the United Nations, has been actively contributing to the efforts aimed at establishing international peace and security. We have successfully fulfilled and continue to fulfill the responsibilities we have undertaken within international missions. We have been making great efforts for the resolution of global problems on the basis of multilateralism. Saying ‘The World is bigger than 5,’ we advocate a multipolar, polycentric, multicultural, more inclusive and fairer global order. We strive to realize the vision of a more just system by assuming effective roles in the international arena through our enterprising and humanitarian foreign policy and opening our gates to millions of innocent migrants. The Turkevi Center also symbolizes our belief in the United Nations, multilateralism, justice and peace. We have erected here another embodiment of the rising and growing Turkey’s diplomatic weight and vision,” the President said.
“THE NEW TURKEVI CENTER IS ALSO READY TO SERVE IN THE ACTIVITIES TO BE HELD BY THE UN AND MEMBER STATES”
Noting that the Turkevi Center would be a reflection of Turkey’s place within the international community in the lead up to the year 2023, the centenary of the Republic, President Erdoğan stated: “As I emphasize in the letter I have placed in the building’s foundation, the center will serve for long years as a symbol of Turkey’s success story. With the means it has to offer, the New Turkevi Center is also ready to serve in the activities to be held by the United Nations and member states.”
