President Erdoğan: The Turkish economy became the world’s second fastest growing economy in the second quarter
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the Graduation Ceremony of the Officers and Noncommissioned Officers of the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy.
“THE SECOND QUARTER’S GROWTH FIGURES HAVE ONCE AGAIN PROVEN THE TURKISH ECONOMY’S DYNAMISM”
Stating that the Turkish economy, which closed 2020 with a growth rate of 1.8 per cent, continued its growth trend, President Erdoğan said: “We maintained the momentum, which we gained last year, in the first quarter of the year with 7.2 per cent growth rate. And, the second quarter’s growth figures announced today have once again proven the Turkish economy’s dynamism, production potential and endurance. The Turkish economy grew by 21.7 per cent in the second quarter and became the second fastest growing economy in the world. This growth data, which cannot be explained merely with base effect, has once again shown that Turkey has an economy of production.”
“WE ARE DETERMINED TO RENDER TURKEY AN INVESTMENT AND PRODUCTION BASE”
Underscoring that this positive course of the Turkish economy was the sign that 2021 would be closed with a strong growth rate, President Erdoğan added: “The international organizations, which used to spread pessimism about the Turkish economy, have now started to revise their growth prospects in upward direction. It is now time to act more enthusiastically for investment, production, export and employment. We face a rare and great opportunity and by making the most of this opportunity, we are determined to render our country an investment and production base. Therefore, whatever others do and whatever they say, we only take care of our own business and focus on our goals.”
