President Erdoğan: The Ukraine war has once again shown how accurate our quest for a fair world order is
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared iftar with ambassadors in Ankara.
“WITH GLOBALIZATION, OUR RESPONSIBILITIES TO EACH OTHER INCREASE AS WELL”
Addressing ambassadors during the iftar, President Erdoğan said: “We are first humans and then an African, Asian, European, or American. No matter where we live, no matter what our faith, culture, language, or skin color is, we are all members of the 8.5-billion great family of humanity. And as the members of the family of humanity, we are responsible not only to one another, but also to our children and future generations. None of us can afford to retreat into our own ivory tower and turn a blind eye to the problems, difficulties, or disasters others have been going through.”
“With globalization, our responsibilities to each other increase as well,” President Erdoğan stated, and added: “Even if we forget or refuse to admit, every incident that takes place reminds us once again that we as the whole humanity are on the same boat. We witness this bitter truth in many areas, from conflicts to economic crises, from the pandemic to environmental disasters. In light of these realities, we as Türkiye endeavor to fulfill our duties and play a productive role in crises.”
“I BELIEVE THAT A PEACEFUL SOLUTION CAN BE REACHED ON THE BASIS OF THE PRESERVATION OF UKRAINE’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY”
“Ensuring ceasefire first, and then permanent peace between our two neighbors will be one of the most auspicious works to be carried out for the humanity,” President Erdoğan underscored, and said: “I wholeheartedly believe that a peaceful solution can be reached through dialogue on the basis of the preservation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.”
Stressing that Türkiye would continue its works to get results from the talks in Istanbul, which he noted would satisfy both the parties and the international community, President Erdoğan continued as follows: “The Ukraine war has once again shown how accurate our quest for the establishment of a fair world order is. The importance of our reform efforts in the United Nations Security Council, which we have symbolized by saying, ‘the World is bigger than 5’, has been understood.”
