A MAGNIFICENT MONUMENT BEFITTING ISTANBUL

“We will work hard and complete the construction of the Atatürk Culture Center in just two years,” President Erdoğan said, adding: “We will thus have built a magnificent monument befitting Istanbul, the capital of history, civilization and culture.”

President Erdoğan noted: “We are building a monument that will symbolize our resolve to usher in a bright future for our country against those seeking to doom it to darkness. The Atatürk Culture Center will be a memorial of victory against the Jacobin mentality that is at odds with the people’s values.”

ZERO VAT ON BOOKS AND PERIODICALS

Also giving good news in arts and culture, President Erdoğan stated: “With a law to be discussed this week at the Parliament, the zero-VAT practice on books and periodicals will be expanded to cover both the publishers and the sellers. To put it more clearly, there will be no VAT on books, magazines and newspapers anymore.”
