President Erdoğan: Turkey has dealt a heavy blow to the terror corridor sought to be established along its southern borders

President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens at a campaign rally in the province of Isparta in the run-up to the local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.
Making remarks on the upcoming local elections, President Erdoğan, drawing attention to the TL12.5-billion investment they have made in Isparta over the past 16 years, elaborated that among these investments are 1,251 new classrooms, university dormitories for 11,167 students, youth centers, sports halls and social facilities.
“TODAY, THERE IS PEACE AND SECURITY IN THE REGIONS WHERE TERRORISTS USED TO ROAM FREELY JUST A FEW YEARS AGO”
Also touching upon Turkey’s anti-terror fight, President Erdoğan pointed out that Turkey, with the operations Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch, has dealt a heavy blow to all terrorist organizations, from the PKK and the DAESH to the FETO, and to the terror corridor sought to be established along its southern borders, and added: “Today, there is peace, security and stability in the regions where terrorists used to roam freely just a few years ago. There is peace, freedom and democracy in the areas that are under Turkey’s control, from Jarabulus and Azaz to Afrin and Al-Bab.”
Further stressing that these cities, names of which he stated were once mentioned with suffering and oppression, today impress everyone as islands of stability within Syria, President Erdoğan noted: “We are now on the eve of a new move. Inshallah, we will clear our entire southern border of terror and establish safe zones to which refuges can return with their minds at peace. We have decided on our preparations, plans and strategies with regard to the operation. We have completed all our preparations. Inshallah, we will take these steps before long.”
