President Erdoğan: Türkiye is among the world’s leading countries in terms of dormitories
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the official opening ceremony of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ 105 new dormitories located across the country.
Commencing his speech by wishing Allah’s mercy upon the latest martyrs of Azerbaijan who had lost their lives while defending their lands, President Erdoğan underscored that the current situation caused by Armenia’s violation of the agreement reached following the war, which had ended with Azerbaijan’s victory, was unacceptable for Türkiye, and noted: “The whole world should know that we stand with our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters in the face of this development as well, as has always been the case. This attitude will undoubtedly lead to some consequences for Armenia, which has been constantly displaying aggressive behaviors in addition to not fulfilling the terms of the agreement signed following the Karabakh war. We hope that Armenia will leave this wrong track as soon as possible, immediately fulfill the terms of the agreement and use its time and energy to strengthen peace. I once again remember our martyrs with grace and pray to my Lord for a speedy recovery for the injured. I extend my condolences to the Azerbaijani people, first and foremost my brother Ilham Aliyev.”
As regards the opening, President Erdoğan said that with the ones inaugurated today, the total number of dormitories increased to 800 and the beds to 850 thousand, and added: “Today Türkiye is among the world’s leading countries in terms of dormitories and of opportunities offered to university students. Our dormitories, together with their comfort, study areas, sports fields, libraries, and such services as free internet, cleaning and security, have each become a center of living for our students.”
