President Erdoğan: Turkovac is a symbol of our efforts to protect our people
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed via videoconference a ceremony marking the beginning of the serial production of Türkiye’s domestically produced TURKOVAC vaccine.
“We all share the joy of the beginning of the serial production of TURKOVAC, Türkiye’s first domestically produced vaccine. On behalf of my country and my nation, I congratulate everyone, who has taken part in the development and production of our vaccine. It is of utmost importance that vaccine, which is the most effective precaution against the coronavirus pandemic that has been raging across the world for the past 2 years, can now be produced in Türkiye. It is even more meaningful that this vaccine has been completely developed by our own scientists and researchers, and that its patent belongs to us,” President Erdoğan said.

President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “Our TURKOVAC vaccine, which has reached the stage of production and use by obtaining the necessary approvals following a long period of preparation and research, is a symbol of our efforts to protect our people from the pandemic in the most effective way.”
“We will offer to our citizens TURKOVAC as a third choice along with Sinovac and BioNTech vaccines. I know some of our citizens, despite all the risks, waited for our own product to get vaccinated. I call on these citizens to make appointments as soon as possible and get their TURKOVAC jabs,” President Erdoğan said.
Underscoring Türkiye’s generous stance on sharing vaccines and medicines, President Erdoğan said: “During the pandemic, we have shared our medical materials, masks in particular, with 160 countries and 12 international organizations across the world. We are also sending some of the vaccines, we purchased from other places, to the friendly countries in urgent need. With the production of TURKOVAC, we will be pleased to share our vaccine with the entire humanity. I congratulate everyone who has contributed to the development and production of our vaccine. I hope our TURKOVAC vaccine will lead to auspicious outcomes for our country, our nation and for the entire humanity.”
