President Erdoğan, US President Trump talk over phone

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Donald J. Trump of the U.S. at the request of the U.S. side.
The call addressed the Türkiye-U.S. bilateral relations and the situation in Gaza.
Stating that the visit they paid to Washington D.C. further strengthened the Türkiye-U.S. relations, President Erdoğan said that it is important to take steps that would enhance the cooperation between the two countries in every area, defense industry in particular.
Underscoring that Türkiye makes intensive efforts in order for peace and calm to prevail in the entire region, first and foremost in Gaza, President Erdoğan voiced Türkiye’s pleasure over the initiatives to that end.
Further stressing that Türkiye has accelerated its diplomatic engagements for peace, President Erdoğan said they will continue to contribute to the global peace vision, and that it is important in terms of the success of the initiatives aimed for establishing peace in the region that Israel ends its attacks.
