President Erdoğan visits quake-hit Elazığ
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid a visit to Elazığ following the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Sivrice district.
President Erdoğan attended the funeral prayer for Ayşegül Civelek and her son Muhammed Salih Civelek who died in the earthquake and offered his condolences to their family.

Adressing citizens following the funeral, President Erdoğan said: “We as the state are doing everything we can. The Housing Development Administration (TOKI) will immediately take the necessary steps, do whatever is necessary and make sure no one is left without a home.”
Heading to Sürsürü and Mustafa Paşa neighborhoods of Elazığ, President Erdoğan inspected the rescue efforts on site.
Making remarks to reporters in Mustafa Paşa neighborhood, President Erdoğan noted that nearly 40 people have been rescued so far, 22 citizens lost their lives and over a thousand people are under treatment in hospitals. “May Allah bless the victims. I offer my condolences to their families and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded,” President Erdoğan said.
“Our state has mobilized all its resources to rescue the people under the rubble,” President Erdoğan underlined.
President Erdoğan also visited the wounded citizens in the hospital.
