President Erdoğan visits “The Treasures and the Tradition of ‘Lâle’ in the Ottoman Empire” exhibition in Kyoto

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan visited “The Treasures and the Tradition of ‘Lâle’ in the Ottoman Empire” exhibition in the Japanese city of Kyoto.

Welcomed by Princess Akiko of Mikasa upon their arrival at the exhibition, the First Couple toured the exhibition, and were briefed by the officials on the pieces exhibited.

Speaking to reporters following the visit, President Erdoğan said that since 2019 has been declared as Turkish Culture Year in Japan, exhibitions that represent the Turkish culture are held in the country, and added: “Culture is the most important richness of a country, and I think that countries which give prominence to their cultural richness also pave the way for peoples to integrate with each other.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan accompanied the President during the visit.
