President Erdoğan: We are determined to elevate Turkey to the level it deserves in the new global order
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the nation following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.
“WE WILL LEAVE OUR YOUTH A GREAT AND POWERFUL TURKEY ON WHICH THEY CAN BUILD THEIR VISION FOR 2053”
“We are determined to leave our youth a great and powerful Turkey on which they can build their vision for 2053. In this regard, we have recently been appearing before our nation with new reform programmes,” President Erdoğan said.
“In order to consolidate stability, we are supporting our macroeconomic policies with structural measures and transformations. In this regard, we are putting into practice numerous regulations on public finance, inflation, finance sector, current deficit and employment. Within the framework of structural policies, we are developing concrete policies that include our institutional structure, investment incentives, facilitation of domestic trade, competition policies. We are determined to elevate Turkey to the level it deserves in the new global political and economic order, which accelerated with the pandemic. We are preparing our reform packages in a way that will facilitate and expedite the realization of this goal. Every reform package of ours has been prepared in light of views from all parties ranging from public to private sector and civil society. As was in the case during their preparation, we are open to all kinds of constructive criticism and contribution during the implementation of these programmes,” President Erdoğan noted.
Noting that it had been a year since the COVID-19 pandemic reached Turkey, President Erdoğan said: “On behalf of my country and my nation, I offer my gratitude to all the health personnel who made a great sacrifice and fought against the virus on the front line.”

Praising Turkey’s healthcare workers, President Erdoğan said: “Thanks to the strength of its medical infrastructure and social security system, Turkey has turned its fight against the pandemic into a success story, admired by the world. Even during the months the pandemic peaked, our healthcare system continued to serve our citizens.”
“TURKEY RANKS 5TH IN THE WORLD IN NUMBER OF DELIVERED VACCINES”
“We are one of the first countries in the world that began to deliver vaccines. As of today, the number of delivered vaccines has reached 11,500,000. We rank 5th in the world in terms of vaccination. The studies on our indigenous vaccine are ongoing and until it is ready, we will continue to procure vaccines from abroad,” President Erdoğan said.
“WE HAVE PROVIDED MEDICAL AID AND SUPPORT TO 157 COUNTRIES”
President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: “While standing by our citizens in Turkey, we have also not neglected our brothers and sisters living abroad. We have brought to Turkey over 100 thousand citizens of ours from 142 countries and reunited them with their families since the outbreak of the pandemic. We have enabled more than 5,500 foreigners from 65 countries to securely return home with evacuation flights. We have also helped 38 thousand people from 91 countries seeking to return home via Turkey. We have provided medical aid and support to 157 countries and 12 international organizations asking Turkey for assistance.”
“We have allocated via our development agencies 39 million liras’ worth of funds to 63 projects aimed at alleviating the social and economic effects of the coronavirus. We have also introduced rental exemption for our entrepreneurs at technology development zones and R&D centers,” President Erdoğan said.
