President Erdoğan: We are proud of the level our cooperation has reached
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar co-chaired the 4th meeting of the Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee held at Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul.

Making a speech during the meeting, President Erdoğan expressed his wish for the meeting to yield auspicious results, and said: “First of all, I would like to say, ‘Welcome to your second home!’ to my Qatari brothers and sisters. We are proud of the level our cooperation has reached during a period in which we are celebrating the 45th anniversary of our diplomatic relations.”
Citing the proverb, “A friend in need is a friend indeed,” President Erdoğan noted that Turkey and Qatar have thus far acted in solidarity and in cooperation with each other during difficult times.
Underscoring that Turkey and Qatar have repeatedly shown that they are each other’s true friends, President Erdoğan stated: “The Turkish nation has exerted great efforts to nullify the blockade and sanctions targeting its Qatari brothers. And, Qatar, for its part, has been among the countries which have given our country the strongest support in the aftermath of the July 15 coup attempt. It has also stood by us in the face of the speculative attempts targeting our economy in the recent months. On this occasion, I once again offer our gratitude on behalf of myself and my nation to our faithful friend Qatar.”
Touching upon his one-on-one meeting with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim, President Erdoğan said that during the meeting, they expressed their pleasure over the level the bilateral relations have reached, and exchanged wishes on further deepening the cooperation between the two countries in every field.
Following the meeting, strategic cooperation protocols in many areas, including transportation, culture, trade and economy, were signed between the two countries by the relevant ministers.
After the signing ceremony, President Erdoğan hosted a dinner at Vahdettin Mansion in honor of Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim.
