President Erdoğan: We are transforming our cities in accordance with our people’s traditions

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at a meeting in Istanbul held to introduce a new social housing project which envisages the construction of 50 thousand low-budget residential units.

Stressing the importance of the upcoming local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019, President Erdoğan underlined that Turkey will both elect mayors and make a decision concerning its future at the polls.  

 “Here today, we are also giving the good news about the TOKİ’s social housing project for 50 thousand new residential units,” President Erdoğan said, referring to Turkey’s Housing Development Administration, and added: “Another attribute of these residences is that they will be constructed with horizontal architecture. We are transforming our cities in accordance with our people’s traditions in a manner that would keep the neighborhood culture alive and with an approach that would let our citizens connect with the nature as strongly as possible.”
