President Erdoğan: We foil every scenario that seeks to isolate Turkey in our region
President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the party’s parliamentary group meeting.
Noting that Turkey has been going through a period of critical developments, President Erdoğan said: “The steps Turkey has been taking, the stance it has been displaying, and the struggle it has been waging in the recent period are so important as to shape the next half-century or, indeed, the entire century. The global order that underpinned the last century is now being shaken to its foundations in a fashion to spare no country or region. One of the distinct features of this period is that the separation between domestic policy and foreign policy has disappeared. We are living times when all are interconnected and interrelated.”
President Erdoğan continued: “We continue to foil, through bigger steps, every scenario that seeks to usurp our rights and isolate Turkey in our region. The steps we take abroad, from Syria to Libya, are aimed at shielding our friends against any injustice as well as protecting our own security and interests. We display the kind of stance that befits us as a nation which has no stain of exploitation, massacre, oppression, or of submission to the mighty in its history.”
“THE TRIPOLI GOVERNMENT’S STANCE IN THE TALKS IN MOSCOW WAS HIGHLY CONCILIATORY”
“Through our joint initiative with Russia, we have worked quite hard to reach a ceasefire in Libya,” noted the President, and added: “The Tripoli government displayed a highly conciliatory and constructive stance during yesterday’s talks in Moscow aimed at putting the ceasefire agreement in writing. The conditions put forth by the putschist Haftar unveil his true face and intention. We also know that Haftar doesn’t have a good track record when it comes to his former agreements. It is not surprising for us to see a mentality, which abides by the 2015 agreement’s parts that serve its interests but rejects the other parts, refuse ceasefire today. Yet, this time, unlike the past, Turkey is also included in the process. All in all, we find the talks held yesterday in Moscow beneficial in that they showed the putschist Haftar’s true face to the international community.”
