President Erdoğan: We have initiated a new era in our struggle to develop, enhance and strengthen every inch of our country
President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed via videoconference party’s provincial congresses in Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Batman and Siirt.
“WE ARE DETERMINED TO ASSUME A GOOD POSITION FOR US IN THE WORLD THAT WILL BE RESHAPED AFTER THE PANDEMIC”
Noting that Turkey had positively differentiated itself in handling the pandemic, President Erdoğan said: “When we break this new wave, as well, with the support and sensitivity of our nation, a bright future awaits us. As you have followed, we have initiated a new era in reforms which has constituted the backbone of our 18-year long fight for democracy and development. We are determined to assume a good position for us in the world that will be reshaped after the pandemic by improving our legal infrastructure, consolidating the bases our economy is built on, and boosting production and employment.”
“WE EXPECT THE EU TO KEEP ITS PROMISES, AND NOT TO DISCRIMINATE”
“Despite all the difficulties before us, we have initiated a new era in our struggle to develop, enhance, strengthen and enrich every inch of our country from its east to its west, from its north to its south,” President Erdoğan said.
“We do not aim to fight with anyone, both at home and abroad, violate anyone’s rights, or disrupt anyone’s legitimate stance,” President Erdoğan underscored. “On the contrary, we want to be in stronger cooperation with our friends and allies. We expect the EU to keep its promises, not to discriminate or at least not to be an instrument to the overt hostilities towards our country. We see ourselves in Europe, not anywhere else, and we look to build our future with Europe.”
Noting that Turkey desired to actively use its long-standing and close relations of alliance with the US in resolving all the regional and global issues, President Erdoğan said: “Such countries, with which we have deep-rooted, historical ties, as Russia and Iran will not be ignored.”
“NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO ISOLATE OR THREATEN TURKEY WITH WRONG ARGUMENTS”
Highlighting Turkey’s profound ties with the Islamic and Turkish world, President Erdoğan said: “We seek to improve our cooperation with almost all of the regional pacts in the world. We work for solutions based on territorial integrity and political unity in all the places we are involved in from Syria to Libya. Given this picture, no one has the right to accuse, isolate or threaten Turkey with arguments, which are outright lies and wrong.”
“We act in an understanding that observes what is right, fair and just, that looks out for the oppressed and the disadvantaged. We expect Turkey to be approached with the same fair perspective,” President Erdoğan said.
“We believe no honorable country or organization would accept to be putty in the hands of lobbies and terrorist organizations which have made animosity towards Turkey their purpose in life. We advocate and put into practice democracy, rights and freedoms, justice and economic development not because some people want or impose so, but because our people deserve them. We are saddened by the fact that those, who violate the very values they preach, criticize our country on the same matters, and take the issue to the point of sanctions. We believe we do not have any problem with any country or organization that cannot be solved through politics, diplomacy, and dialogue. We have always kept these channels open, and will continue to do so.”
