President Erdoğan: We have taken our country to an upper league in rights and freedoms
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed a meeting with representatives of nongovernmental organizations in Malatya.
“We are the representatives of a deep-rooted tradition who have built their history on the principle ‘let the people live so that the state lives’,” the President said. “There is no discrimination, no segregation, or no marginalization based on faith, preferences or political opinions in our perception of politics and services. Each one of the 85 million people is our genuine brothers and sisters regardless of their races, origins or sects. Every single member of our nation is equally worthy of services and respect. Each individual is a first-class citizen. You can see no traces of the opposite in our 40-year-long political life or in our 20-year-long term in power.”
President Erdoğan added: “Whether they vote for us or not, we have worked to embrace the whole 85 million regardless of their social or political colors. We have taken our country to an upper league not only in economy, defense, counterterrorism and diplomacy but also in the realm of rights and freedoms.”
