President Erdoğan: We have worked very hard for the past 17 years to rejuvenate both the cities and the souls

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens at a campaign rally in the province of Manisa in the run-up to the local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.

Stating that Manisa was one of the cities they got inspired by when they, as AK Party, set out in 2002 to reinvigorate Turkey, and that they have always received big support from this city, President Erdoğan noted: “We have worked very hard for the past 17 years to rejuvenate both the cities and the souls, and continue to do so.” The President further stressed: “While making our country grow 3.5 times as big, we have also introduced unprecedented investments in our cities.”

INVESTMENTS MADE IN MANISA

Also touching upon the investments made in Manisa over the past 17 years, President Erdoğan, pointing to the TL27-billion investment they have made in Manisa throughout that period, elaborated that among these investments are 4,400 new classrooms, university dormitories for 6,013 students, 12,000-spectator Akhisar Stadium, youth centers and 65 healthcare facilities, 23 of which he highlighted are hospitals, including 558-bed Manisa City Hospital.

“STARTING FROM APRIL, TURKEY WILL FULLY FOCUS ON REFORMS”

Pointing out that following the upcoming local elections Turkey will enter a 4.5-year period of uninterrupted service, President Erdoğan said that although they know the people got tired of the 14 elections and referendums held since November 2002, they expect one last effort from the people, and added: “Starting from the month of April, Turkey will embark on its march towards future fully focusing on reforms, big projects and big investments.”
